“To Mold or Not to Mold”
Presented by Erick Janisse, CO, C.Ped.
Time: October 21st, 8:00 to 9:00 PM EST
Prefabricated foot orthoses (PFOs) have an growing role in modern pedorthics. They can fill a niche as a temporary or a trial device or they can be a nice retail add-on sale. More often than not, however, they provide a lower cost alternative for patients who neither have insurance coverage for custom FOs nor can afford them.
In this session, the presenter will review the indications and contraindications for use of PFOs. Different styles of designs of PFOs will be compared and contrasted. The presenter will also share quick, easy in-office techniques to customize these devices. Finally, the presenter will share the findings of literature review on the efficacy of PFOs in treating several common foot pathologies.
